About this role
Focus Recruitment is recruiting a Criminal Solicitor for firms in Blackburn and across Blackburn with Darwen. We work with regional practices and high street firms who recruit on a rolling basis, so we place criminal solicitors throughout the year.
What you will be doing
- Represent clients at the police station and in the Magistrates Court
- Prepare cases and take detailed instructions
- Review and analyse prosecution evidence
- Instruct counsel and experts where required
- Comply with Legal Aid and LAA requirements
- Participate in the duty rota
What you need
- Background in a comparable legal role
- SRA admitted, Duty solicitor status desirable
- Comfortable using case management systems
- Discreet and professional with confidential matters
- Right to work in the UK
