About this role
We have ongoing requirements for Highways Engineer covering Durham. Development pipelines in County Durham need technical assessments at every stage, from pre-application through to discharge of conditions, and our clients hire highways engineer on permanent, contract and freelance terms.
What you will be doing
- Prepare Transport Assessments, Transport Statements and Travel Plans for planning applications
- Carry out TRICS trip generation and distribution analysis
- Model junction capacity using ARCADY, PICADY and LinSig
- Undertake site visits, parking surveys and accessibility audits
- Liaise with highway authorities on scoping and planning consultations
- Respond to consultee comments and attend technical meetings
What you need
- Relevant degree or equivalent experience
- Degree or HNC in civil engineering, Section 278 / Section 38 design, DMRB and Manual for Streets, AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Good report-writing skills
- Full UK driving licence preferred
- Right to work in the UK
