About this role

We have ongoing requirements for Ecologist covering Perth. Development pipelines in Perth and Kinross need technical assessments at every stage, from pre-application through to discharge of conditions, and our clients hire ecologist on permanent, contract and freelance terms.

What you will be doing

• Carry out Preliminary Ecological Appraisals and habitat surveys
• Write Ecological Impact Assessments and mitigation strategies
• Complete Biodiversity Net Gain metric calculations and BNG plans
• Undertake protected species surveys during the survey season
• Advise developers on ecological constraints at an early stage
• Liaise with local authority ecologists and Natural England

What you need

• Consultancy or local authority experience
• Preliminary Ecological Appraisals and Ecological Impact Assessment, Protected species survey experience, Natural England survey licence (bats, GCN or dormice) desirable, CIEEM membership
• Good written English and report writing
• GIS skills (QGIS or ArcGIS) an advantage
• Right to work in the UK
