About this role
Focus Recruitment places Criminal Solicitors with law firms throughout Newquay and the wider Cornwall area. Our legal desk works directly with practice managers and partners, so we can tell you what a firm is genuinely like before you interview.
What you will be doing
- Represent clients at the police station and in the Magistrates Court
- Prepare cases and take detailed instructions
- Review and analyse prosecution evidence
- Instruct counsel and experts where required
- Comply with Legal Aid and LAA requirements
- Participate in the duty rota
What you need
- Relevant experience in a similar role within a UK practice
- SRA admitted, Duty solicitor status desirable
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Well organised with good file management discipline
- Right to work in the UK
