Highways Engineer Required in Cardiff | Indeed

About this role

Focus Recruitment is recruiting Highways Engineer for work across Cardiff and the wider Caerdydd – Cardiff area. Our clients are planning, engineering and environmental consultancies, developers and housebuilders who need assessments delivered for planning applications, so demand for highways engineer runs year-round.

What you will be doing

• Design highway layouts, junction improvements and site accesses
• Assess the traffic impact of new development on the local network
• Produce reports and drawings to programme and budget
• Work with planners, drainage engineers and architects on the design team
• Check designs against DMRB, Manual for Streets and local standards
• Mentor junior staff and review their technical work

What you need

• Relevant degree or equivalent experience
• Degree or HNC in civil engineering, Section 278 / Section 38 design, DMRB and Manual for Streets, AutoCAD Civil 3D
• Good report-writing skills
• Full UK driving licence preferred
• Right to work in the UK
