Focus Recruitment is recruiting Archaeological Consultant for work across Southampton and the wider City of Southampton area. Our clients are planning, engineering and environmental consultancies, developers and housebuilders who need assessments delivered for planning applications, so demand for archaeological consultant runs year-round.

What you will be doing

• Produce archaeological Desk-Based Assessments and Written Schemes of Investigation
• Advise clients on archaeological risk and planning conditions
• Monitor fieldwork contractors and review their reporting
• Use HER data, historic mapping and GIS
• Write clear reports to programme
• Build relationships with county archaeologists

What you need

• Heritage or archaeological consultancy experience
• Archaeological Desk-Based Assessments, Written Schemes of Investigation, CIfA membership
• Confident liaising with conservation officers
• GIS and historic mapping skills
• Right to work in the UK
