About this role
We have ongoing requirements for Biodiversity Net Gain Assessor covering Great Yarmouth. Development pipelines in Norfolk need technical assessments at every stage, from pre-application through to discharge of conditions, and our clients hire biodiversity net gain assessor on permanent, contract and freelance terms.
What you will be doing
- Carry out Preliminary Ecological Appraisals and habitat surveys
- Write Ecological Impact Assessments and mitigation strategies
- Complete Biodiversity Net Gain metric calculations and BNG plans
- Undertake protected species surveys during the survey season
- Advise developers on ecological constraints at an early stage
- Liaise with local authority ecologists and Natural England
What you need
- Consultancy or local authority experience
- Statutory Biodiversity Metric calculations, UKHab habitat survey and condition assessment, BNG plans and HMMPs
- Good written English and report writing
- GIS skills (QGIS or ArcGIS) an advantage
- Right to work in the UK
