About this role
Focus Recruitment is recruiting Ecologist for work across Londonderry and the wider Derry City and Strabane area. Our clients are planning, engineering and environmental consultancies, developers and housebuilders who need assessments delivered for planning applications, so demand for ecologist runs year-round.
What you will be doing
- Carry out Preliminary Ecological Appraisals and habitat surveys
- Write Ecological Impact Assessments and mitigation strategies
- Complete Biodiversity Net Gain metric calculations and BNG plans
- Undertake protected species surveys during the survey season
- Advise developers on ecological constraints at an early stage
- Liaise with local authority ecologists and Natural England
What you need
- Relevant degree in ecology, environmental science or similar
- Preliminary Ecological Appraisals and Ecological Impact Assessment, Protected species survey experience, Natural England survey licence (bats, GCN or dormice) desirable, CIEEM membership
- Fieldwork experience in all weathers
- Full UK driving licence
- Right to work in the UK
